Abstract. The studies were carried out in 2003-2004 to determine the influence of herbicides on weed infestation, growth, yield and some chemical composition of baby carrot. Herbicides pendimethalin, linuron and flurochlorione were applied immediately after sowing. All compounds were selective to carrot, and affected the yield in comparison to untreated plots and did not modify its nutritional value.

Summary

Studies were carried out in 2003-2004 to determine the influence of herbicides on weed infestation, growth, yield and chemical composition of baby carrot. Herbicides pendimethalin, linuron and flurochloridone were applied immediately after carrot sowing. Herbicides, especially linuron and flurochloridone, effectively controlled weeds, and were selective to carrot. All herbicides affected the yield, in comparison to untreated plots and had no influence on nutritional value of baby carrot.
